Course Details

  • Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities.
  • Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular mobile tower scaffold to be used.
  • Be able to locate and identify the major components of the mobile scaffolding and explain their functions.
  • Conduct all safety checks in accordance with manufacturers and legislative requirements.
  • Select suitable type of mobile scaffolding, relative to the work being undertaken.
  • Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for mobile scaffold.
  • Erect, dismantle, relocate mobile scaffolding safely and efficiently.
  • Carry out end of work inspections.
  • Environmental considerations
  • Storage of mobile scaffold.

Course Duration

Novice training – 1 Day with a maximum of 6
Refresher training – 1 Day with a maximum of 6
Assessment only (EWT) – 1 Day with a maximum of 8

Assessment

Theory assessment made up of open questions and multiple choice.
Practical assessment.

Accreditation

NPORS (Traditional) Operator Card - 5 Year Expiry
Crestmoor Training (in-house operator card & certification)

Things to know

We deliver this training at our Centre in Wincanton, but we can also come to your venue to deliver the course, if you are able to meet the off-site training requirements.

For Experienced Workers Test (EWT) the candidate will be required to profile themselves with the instructor on their previous experiences using the piece of plant being tested on.

How do I know if I am classed as experienced?
You should be able to clarify your level of experience by reading our course objective however, if you are still unsure then please get in touch with us to speak with one of our instructors.
Do you provide PPE for me to wear during my training?
All delegates must bring their own PPE with them on the day. We will send a complete list of requirements out to on your course joining instructions.
